MTa’s team building activities provide facilitators and trainers with everything they need to introduce experiential learning into their workshops. The activities are designed to engage all of the participants in tasks that recreate the ‘team membership issues’ that teams encounter at work. The issues raised can be diverse, but might include; lack of clarity to objectives, ineffective communications, lack of mutual respect, low levels of commitment to the team, etc.
- Team building is about releasing, developing and managing everyone team members’ potential in a way that achieves maximum performance for the team.
- Team building is about far more than creating a feel good factor through shared experiences that are fun.
- understand and commit to common aims and objectives
- develop and use their mental attributes, skills and knowledge in the most effective way
- capitalise on the diversity within the team.

The 10 short (less than 30 minutes) and 6 longer activities (1.5 hours plus) provide an excellent balance of opportunities for team development. The shorter activities can be used to remind people about base team skills and raise some of the issues the team is facing, whereas the longer ones can be used to dig deeper: their length and relative complexity provides more opportunities for members to replicate (unwittingly) the way team functions on a daily basis. The review documentation associated with these longer activities is particularly well suited to team building.

MTa Insights offers over 50 activities, each providing its clearly defined learning opportunities. The introductory activities are relatively simple, but engaging and thought provoking. These easier activities contrast with some of the very challenging ones found in the Business Priorities and Performing for Excellence volumes, which raise real issues about the impact of personal attitudes, interpersonal relationships and team cultures on personal and business performance.

MTa MINI Essentials contains four shorter table top activities that introduce the essential elements of working together in a business context. These activities are particularly useful when the facilitator wants to raise the issues that are affecting the performance of the team doesn't have the time, space or inclination to explore the team's issues in real depth.
MTa MINI Essentials is also a highly portable tool, ideal for the frequent traveller.
